The Risk Management Associate- Auto position requires a dynamic, industrious, and detailed oriented individual. Reporting to the Corporate Risk & Insurance Manager, this role will be responsible for handling in-house auto damage claims, pursuing subrogation, and submitting auto claims to the insurance carrier as needed. This position will also be cross trained to assist in the managing of workers' compensation claims.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Handling in-house auto damage claims by securing the vehicle incident report from the Operations Manager, requesting damage photos, repair estimate, police report, and contacting the body shop to schedule repairs and arrange rentals as needed.
• Assist in pursing subrogation recovery against at-fault insurance carriers.
• Assign physical damage claims (total losses) to the insurance carrier as needed and provide claim information/documents to the carrier as requested.
• Assist as a back-up to the Workers' Compensation Risk Management Associate including requesting/securing the employee injury report from the Operations Manager, assigning WC claims to the insurance carrier, securing loss wage information from payroll, following up with the injured worker, and securing medical records/work restrictions.
• Secure a Personnel Action Form (PAF) from the injured worker's manager agreeing to accommodate specified work restrictions.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience Required:
• Minimum of 2 years legal or claims related experience primarily in personal injury, auto, and/or workers' compensation.
• Experience and working knowledge of property and casualty insurance claims.
• Experience communicating and negotiating with insurance companies. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with confidential information in an appropriate manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, employees, TPA's, insurance adjusters, and defense counsel.
• A NC Insurance Adjuster license is preferred but not required. Functional knowledge and Business Expertise Required.
• Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner.
• Able to handle multiple tasks and maintain control and order.
